Traffic Skills 101 - Allen B
Step 1 of 4: Register for Event
Want to commute to work? Want to ride to the store, for coffee, or to meet a friend? Want to be more comofrtable sharing the roads with other users?
Traffic Skills 101 (TS-101) is a fast-paced class that will give you the confidence to ride safely and legally in traffic on public roadways, and on the trail. You will learn how to conduct bicycle safety checks, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques. We recommended this class for adults and children above age fourteen.
The Classroom portion is done online at www.bikeed.org prior to the actual class and you should expect to spend 1.5 – 2 hours doing this. The Skills and Riding portion will take 5 – 6 hours.
The class will be taught by Warren Casteel, and other DFW area LCIs.
Bring your helmet, water bottles, money for lunch (we will ride to lunch), and lots of enthusiasm!
Dress comfortably for the weather the day of the event.
We will provide coffee, water, snacks, and restroom facilities. Please arrive early to get registered so we can start on time, and hopefully (typically) get out early !
Cost: $ 20.00 for BikeDFW members (direct or through sponsoring organizations; $ 50.00 for others. If you pay the $ 50.00, you will get a free one (1) year membership in BikeDFW.
Registration and contact: Warren Casteel wacasteel@gmail.com 214.212.7365.
Again, a helmet is required to take the course.
